Fully washed means the fruit is removed before the beans dry, which tends to give a clean cup. That is the general meaning of the term, and it matches what the notes suggest: chocolate and butterscotch for the base, with some fruit on top.

Who is it for?
Praxis is for the person who has not settled on a favorite. The roaster's own line for it is working out what you actually like, and the brewing note backs that up: brew it twice at two strengths and keep the one you preferred. It is also a sensible first bag if you are buying for someone else and do not know their taste, since the notes sit in the middle of the range: chocolate and butterscotch, with some fruit. If you already know you want something very bright, our Kenyan is the louder coffee, and if you want something heavy and low in acidity, look at the Brazilian. Both are in all ten coffees.
It is sold as whole bean or ground, at the same $28 for 12 oz. If you own a grinder, whole bean is the one to pick. If you do not, the ground bag saves you the step. Shipping in the US is free either way. The roaster is Temecula Coffee Roasters in Temecula, California, and we do not state a roast date on the bag.
How much does a bag make?
A 12 oz bag is about 340 g. At 60 g per litre that is roughly 5.7 liters of coffee, or about 19 mugs of 10 fl oz. At 70 g per litre it is about 4.9 liters. If you drink two mugs a day, one bag lasts about nine to ten days at the lighter strength. Brewing twice, as the roaster suggests, costs you only a small part of a bag, and it is the cheapest way to find out which strength you prefer.
How should you brew it?
The roaster says any method works. Their suggestion is to brew it twice, once at 60 g per litre and once at 70, and keep whichever you preferred. That is the right way to learn a new bag. In US units, 60 g per litre is about 21 g for 12 fl oz of water, and 70 g per litre is about 25 g.
| Water | 60 g per litre | 70 g per litre |
|---|---|---|
| 12 fl oz (355 g) | 21 g | 25 g |
| 16 fl oz (473 g) | 28 g | 33 g |
| 32 fl oz (946 g) | 57 g | 66 g |
The pour-over version of this, with water temperature and timing, is in our pour-over ratio cheat sheet. For the amounts by pot size, see how much coffee per cup.
