Why Brega Coffee

Most coffee bags tell you a story. Ours tells you what is in it.

Where it grew. Region, altitude and varietal, not just a country. “Colombia” is a marketing word. “Huila, 1,300 to 1,500 m, Caturra and Castillo” is a fact you can check.

No roast date, and here is why. We do not roast the coffee ourselves and we are not the ones sealing the bag, so a date printed by us would be a date we cannot stand behind. Coffee is roasted on demand rather than pulled off a pallet, and we would rather tell you exactly that than print a number we did not watch happen.

How it was processed. Washed, natural, honey, wet-hulled. We name it. Not because it makes us sound serious, but because those two lines explain most of what you are about to taste.

Ingredients. Nine of our ten coffees have exactly one ingredient. The flavoured one lists what was added, in plain English. If a bag will not tell you what is in it, that is a decision somebody made, not a technical limitation.

No proprietary anything. There is no secret blend here, no formula we protect, no claim we cannot back with a line on the label.

We are a small operation. We do not own a farm and we do not pretend to. We choose coffees from roasters in the United States, we put our name on them, and we tell you everything we know about what is inside. A good cup helps you think. A good bag tells you why.

Nothing hidden. Nothing proprietary. Read the bag.
