How does the subscription work?
You pick the coffee, choose whole bean or ground, and set how often it ships. The subscription is 11% off, the shipping is free in the US, and you can skip a delivery or cancel in one click. Set it up on the subscription page. Every one of our ten coffees is $28 for 12 oz before the subscription saving, so you choose by taste and not by budget.
How does No. 1 compare to our other coffees?
If you are not sure about Colombia, here is how it sits next to two others, using label facts only.

In short: choose No. 1 for an everyday cup, No. 2 for fruit in a black cup, and No. 7 if you want to experiment with ratio. You can read more about which of our ten to start with, or see our comparison of Ethiopian natural and Kenyan for pour-over.
How do you brew No. 1 Common Sense?
The roaster's guidance is drip or French press at 60 g per litre, with water just off the boil. That is about 22 g for a 12 oz mug and about 15 g for an 8 oz cup. Because it takes milk well, it is also a sensible choice for a latte or a splash in a mug. For measurements at other sizes, use our ratio chart by brewing method, or if you use a drip machine, this guide to single origin ground coffee for drip.
How long does a bag last?
A 12 oz bag is about 340 g, so at one 12 oz mug a day, it lasts about two weeks. So you can set the schedule to match how fast you drink it, and skip when you have extra. For the math at other volumes, see how long a 12 oz bag of coffee lasts.
Should you choose whole bean or ground?
Both ship in the same 12 oz bag at the same price. Choose whole bean if you own a grinder, and ground if you use a drip machine and want to skip the grinding. If you are unsure about a grinder, how to clean a coffee grinder covers the upkeep.
Questions about shipping or roasting are answered on the FAQ page, and all ten coffees are available to browse before you start.
What happens if you want to try something different?
A simple way to start is with No. 1, then add a second coffee for weekends. Our ten coffees cover a range: the Colombian here, a natural Ethiopian with fruit, a Guatemalan with chocolate and bright fruit, and others from Kenya, Tanzania, Brazil, Costa Rica, Peru and Indonesia, plus a flavored cinnamon roll coffee. They all cost the same, so there is no penalty for trying a new one. If you want to start from a taste preference, our four picks for chocolate flavor is a quick guide.
What does roasted by Temecula Coffee Roasters mean for you?
Our coffee is roasted by Temecula Coffee Roasters in Temecula, California, and we sell it under the Brega Coffee name. We describe each bag only with the facts the roaster prints on the label. That means we do not quote cupping scores or awards, and we do not compare our coffees to other brands. For more on that, the why page explains how we work.
Pick one bag, set the schedule, and skip whenever you have enough.
