How do I use the chart?

Find the amount of water you plan to brew, read across to the ratio you want, and measure that much ground coffee. A scale is the accurate way. Spoons work, but a heaping tablespoon can be double a level one, so level it off with a knife.

Our own label advice for No. 1 Common Sense is 60 g per litre for drip or French press, which is about 1:16.7 and sits between the 1:16 and 1:17 columns.
